Bringing Big Dreams to the Community Stage
Starlight On Main Theatre Company was founded by Wyatt Haugen after years of dreaming about creating a true community theatre experience in the Montevideo, Minnesota area. What began as a vision to bring the magic of live performance closer to home has grown into a creative hub where art, music, and storytelling shine brightly.
Wyatt, our Chief Artistic Officer, knows the stage from every angle. Once in the spotlight himself, he has performed in numerous productions captivating audiences through his talent as an actor, vocalist, and instrumentalist. Today, he channels that same passion and energy into directing, inspiring performers of all ages to find their voices and embrace their artistry.

About Our Founder & Chief Artistic Officer
Wyatt Haugen
Every great production begins with a story, and the story of Starlight On Main Theatre Company began with one dream: to bring the curtain back up on community theatre in Montevideo.
At the heart of that story is Founder and Chief Artistic Officer Wyatt Haugen, whose passion for the performing arts has grown from years spent on stage as an actor, vocalist, musician, director, and producer. While theatre has taken him to many stages, his greatest passion has always been returning home to build something lasting for the community that first inspired him.
Starlight On Main Theatre Company was founded on the belief that theatre is more than entertainment. It is a place where stories are preserved, friendships are formed, confidence is discovered, and communities come together. Drawing inspiration from Montevideo's rich arts history, including the Hollywood Theatre, the Fiesta Ballroom, and the Video Building, Wyatt envisioned an organization that would not only revive community theatre after more than three decades but also celebrate the generations who came before while inspiring those still waiting to take the stage.
Today, that vision continues to grow through mainstage productions, children's theatre, educational opportunities, live music, and the ongoing restoration of the historic Hollywood Theatre as a home for film, live performance, and community celebration. Every production, every volunteer, every audience member, and every standing ovation becomes another chapter in the story of Starlight.
Our mission has always been bigger than producing shows. It is about creating a place where imagination belongs, history is honored, and the spotlight continues to shine for generations to come.

Larissa S. serves as Board Treasurer for Starlight On Main Theatre Company, offering both thoughtful leadership and a strong commitment to our community. As the Head Librarian of the Montevideo Public Library, Larissa is deeply passionate about education, creativity, and providing welcoming spaces where people can gather, learn, and grow. Her love for storytelling and the arts makes her a natural fit for Starlight. Whether through books or the stage, Larissa believes in the power of stories to inspire, connect, and uplift. With her careful stewardship and steady support, she helps ensure that Starlight continues to thrive and serve our community for years to come.

Emma C. brings a lifelong love of music and performance to her role as a Board Member with Starlight and Main Theatre Company. A proud alumna of the YME School District, Emma first found her passion for the arts through band and theatre, performing on stage as early as junior high. She continues to share her musical talent as a saxophonist with the Montevideo Community Band. Emma is thrilled to contribute her experience, enthusiasm, and creative energy to the continued growth and success of Starlight and Main Theatre Company. She looks forward to supporting its mission to bring engaging, high-quality theatre to the community while fostering opportunities for local performers and artists.

Katie L. serves as our Grant Officer and Member At Large on the Starlight On Main Theatre Company board, bringing her energy, creativity, and love of the arts to every project.
A talented saxophone player with the Montevideo Community Band, Katie’s passion for music and performance inspires those around her and helps make our community theatre truly shine.
In addition to her work with Starlight, Katie is an active member of the Lee Mar Ranch Board of Directors in Granite Falls, where she supports programs that enrich lives and foster connections through her work in Non-Profits. Her dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm make her a valued part of our board and our community.

Georgette "G’ette" J. brings over 40 years of experience in singing, acting, and directing across Southwest Minnesota to her role as Member at Large on the Starlight On Main Theatre Company board. Her lifelong dedication to the performing arts has touched countless stages and audiences, and her passion for storytelling continues to inspire performers of all ages.
G’ette’s creativity, guidance, and deep understanding of theatre make her a treasured part of Starlight, helping ensure that every production is full of heart, skill, and community spirit.
